Many events have specific age restrictions set by the organizer, the venue, or by law. Here’s what you need to know as a ticket buyer.
What is an age restriction?
An age restriction means that attendees must be a certain age to be admitted to an event. Common examples include:
18+ events: Often applicable when alcohol is served.
13+ events: Common for concerts with high sound levels.
All ages: Some events allow entry for all age groups, but children may need to be accompanied by an adult.
How do I know if an event has an age restriction?
The age restriction is often listed on the event page under sections like "Important Information" or "Terms and Conditions". Make sure to check this carefully before purchasing tickets.
Children at events
If children are allowed:
Check whether a child ticket is required or if they enter for free under a certain age.
Many events require children under 13 to be accompanied by an adult.
ID may be required
For events with age restrictions, valid ID may be required at the entrance. It is your responsibility to ensure that you (or the person you're buying a ticket for) meet the age requirement.
No refund if entry is denied
If you purchase a ticket for someone who doesn’t meet the age requirement and is denied entry, no refund will be issued. This applies even if the age restriction was unclear to you at the time of purchase — always check the event details.
